1. Why did you start CrossFit?
            I saw the Facebook post about the “New You”.  I was doing Orange Theory at the time and was getting bored with it and wanted more of a physical challenge.  It looked interesting and I wanted to do something different.
2. How has CrossFit changed your life?
            I have always been goal oriented.  It has taken me place that I didn’t think I was capable going, mentally and physically.  My attitude now is pretty much “I can do it if I try”. I have tried things even outside the gym that maybe I wouldn’t have in the past.
3. What are some of the goals you have?
            To get more toned and more muscle.  I have been using the training bar this whole time, and the goal was to get to use the standard bar.
4. What would be your perfect workout?
            I always say pick a challenge that you like or want to do and then pick a challenge you don’t like or don’t want to do.  So, with that in mind I would say I love burpees (I know it’s rare) and I don’t like wallballs.  So that would be the perfect WOD.
5. What is your favorite thing about CrossFit Bios?
            I love the workouts.  They are always different, and always challenging.  You get personal couching all the time; the feedback on your form; how to do movements correctly so you don’t get hurt. I love the nutritional program.  It’s amazing how it wasn’t just about eating.
6. What would you tell somebody just starting out or thinking about starting out?
            You have the greatest support here.  CrossFit community is the one that will cheer you on even if you are the last one.  You get a family of people that lift you up.
7. What is your previous fitness background?
            I have had a very long fitness journey.  I have always been competitive.   I have done running, step aerobics, all the fads.  As I got older lifting weights and building muscle is very important to me.
8. What motivates and/or inspires you?
            Having the friends that you create here. Kara will text me at 5:15am saying “hey, are you going” and even if I don’t feel like it, I will get up and go.  That is super motivational. Coaches here are so unique and different.  We have coaches that will kick your butt and push you, or a little laid back.
9. Something we don’t know about you (interesting fact, funny story, unique talent)?
The fun fact about me is that I make anything into a competition: how quick can we eat something, who can get to the mailbox first, etc.
I love to play tennis and I love being by the water.
