What made you start CrossFit?

I started CrossFit with a friend during the New You program.  Anthony was a bit upset because he invited me numerous times to try his “gym” and I was like, no thanks!  But then a friend of mine made me sign up for this New You program and to my surprise it was at Bios.  I think it was meant to be.

How has CrossFit changed your life?

CrossFit has made me more confident. It’s made me try things I normally would not do. And made me believe that I could accomplish them. If you told me I’d be able to run a mile and do 100 wall balls I’d think you were crazy. But now it’s actually something I would attempt and enjoy attempting.

What are some of the goals you have?

Some of my goals are to get more tone and stronger. To be able to lift heavier. And do better at the next open.

What is your perfect workout?

I️ hate lifting anything over head so anything with lots of running, squats.  Burpees are my favorite!

What would you tell somebody just starting out or thinking about starting out?

I’d tell anyone just starting out to just do it. It’s not as scary as it seems and it’s not what you think CrossFit is about.  It’s definitely more fun!

What is your previous fitness background?

I️ don’t really have a previous fitness background. I dabbled in everything. From Zumba to step classes to kickboxing. But nothing really stuck. CrossFit has been the longest I’ve ever stayed with one program.

What do you like most about CrossFit and what do you like about Bios?

What I like most about CrossFit is Bios. There’s a great sense of community at Bios that keeps me coming back. It makes working out fun. They are so supportive it makes you want to try harder.  It’s a great Box.

What is something interesting that people don’t know about you?

Something interesting about me is that I was born and raised in the Philippines. And I’m fluent in Tagalog and can also speak some Spanish. I️ also went to an all-Girls Catholic boarding school. And I love spam. 🤣

What motivates and/or inspires you?

Anthony and my girls definitely motivate me and inspire me to try harder. My other gym mates also motivate me.  They push me to try harder and lift more. 😊
